Application

The D.S.S. Pro Bullet Short Blocks are a high performance, low cost alternative to a stock rebuild or a factory crate motor.  We recommend these engines for street/ strip, daily driven, low maintenance, moderate to high horsepower, or power adder applications. 

Performance

The D.S.S. Pro Bullet Short Blocks are capable of making well over 600 horsepower with nitrous or boost, however we recommend that you limit total horsepower to around 500. (mid 10’s @ 3200 lbs.)  For applications over 500  horsepower see the Super Pro Bullet and X series Engines.

The D.S.S. Pro Bullet Short Blocks are engineered to offer the perfect balance between race winning power and long term reliability. Our Pro Bullet Stroker 331 and 347 engines are a great  way to get  Windsor power and torque without the expense of a 351 swap or the maintenance problems commonly associated with other stroker combinations. Every D.S.S. Pro Bullet Short Block begins with a Level 10 CNC race prepped block that has been deck squared and equalized, precision bored and honed with torque plates and fitted with the D.S.S. billet aluminum Main Support System and custom ARP main studs.  Then fitted with DSS SX series Forged pistons and  forged I-beam rods with ARP Wave Loc rod bolts, making for a lightweight rotating assembly to produce extra horsepower.

If you are trying to make horsepower and maintain reliability you have to start with a strong foundation.  The Pro Bullet Short Block features the D.S.S. Main Support System, strong SX Series Forged pistons with Sealed Power/ Speed Pro moly rings, forged I-Beam rods with ARP Wave Loc rod bolts and D.S.S. Level 10 CNC race prepped block as standard equipment.  While there is no doubt the Pro Bullet Short Blocks are strong, most people overlook it as a source of extra power, efficiency and improved gas milage.  Pro Bullet Short Blocks produce substantially more power than a worn out stock short block or even a fresh factory crate motor.  This extra horsepower and efficiency is obtained from increased ring seal and the balancing and blueprinting tactics employed on all D.S.S. short blocks.  The forged CNC fly-cut pistons also afford more power by allowing the use of large valve aftermarket heads and aggressive cam profiles. Super Pro Bullet Short Block is capable of making well over 700 horsepower with nitrous or boost, Depending on the severity of your application. however we recommend that you limit total horsepower to around 600 (Mid to low 10's @ 3200 lbs).  , For best results and longevity in severe duty applications you should be looking at our X or XR series engines
